Michael Cowen

Michael Cowen is one of the nation’s leading trucking lawyers.  He has over 120 jury trials and has handled over 1,000 trucking and company vehicle cases.  Michael partners with other firms across the country to maximize the value of truck crash cases.  Michael is board certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Michael has an abundance mentality; he believes that the more we share the stronger we all are.  Michael regularly teaches at continuing legal education conferences throughout the country.  He also contributes by serving on the boards of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Michael also hosts Trial Lawyer Nation, an award-winning legal podcast with over 300,000 downloads, fans in all 50 states. With a new podcast episode twice a month, Michael and his guests share industry knowledge with fellow plaintiff attorneys on how to become a successful trial lawyer. Many of those guests are also Trial Guides authors. 

The success of Trial Lawyer Nation also led to Michael expanding his annual Cowen’s Big Rig Boot Camp to his podcast fans. This event is an annual CLE hosted by Michael Cowen and specifically covers how to maximize the value of trucking and commercial vehicle cases. This event is offered in-person and virtually, with Trial Guides exclusively offering video content.

Michael graduated from Texas A&M University in 1991 and is a proud Aggie. He attended law school at the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated in 1995 with high honors and earned the top score on the Texas Bar Exam.  Michael is licensed to practice in New Mexico, New York, and Texas.
