Louise Lipman

Louise Lipman, LCSW-R, TEP, CGP is a licensed psychotherapist and a certified trainer, educator, and practitioner of psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy in private practice in NYC. She works with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Ms. Lipman teaches at Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming and is a trial consultant specializing in witness preparation and group dynamics in the courtroom. Ms. Lipman has also worked with law firms to facilitate increased creativity and productivity in the work place. She is the director of training at the Psychodrama & Creative Arts Therapy Institute in NYC, which offers a full training program in psychodrama, sociometry and group dynamics.

Ms. Lipman is a past president of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama. She is the current president of the New York Chapter of the ASGPP and has served on the Executive Council of the ASGPP for ten years. She is the current vice president of the American Board of Examiners in psychodrama, sociometry, and group therapy and she is a certified group therapist from the American Society of Group Psychotherapy.

Ms. Lipman is the 2015 recipient of the ASGPP’s J. L. Moreno Award for thirty years of contributions to the field of psychodrama. She was also a recipient of the ASGPP’s Innovator’s Award and the Hannah Weiner Award for service to the field.

Ms. Lipman has written the opening chapter of the book: Psychodrama in the 21st Century, edited by Jacob Gershoni, and she coauthored an article on trauma for The Warrior magazine. She brings her background in theater (as a Broadway actress) and the creative arts to her practice.
